Here is a drill that is a great progression from Rondo activities. Players will be required to take the skills in those activities towards goal with pressure from defenders.
This 6 v 2 + 2 Breakout Drill is played by placing 6 offensive players vs 2 defenders in a box in the middle of the field . The basic set up is a game of keep away in the middle of the field. If the offense makes four passes or splits the defenders they they go to goal and look to score. The six offensive players will leave the box and attack two defenders and a goal keeper.
