In soccer the attacking player must be able to evade his or her defender. In the clip below Matt Sheldon, from Become Elite, shows you three individual moves, the Step Over, Drag and Go and the Maradona. For each move he will detail and demonstrate how it is executed.
Coach Sheldon emphasizes that for any move the run up is very important. Attacking players should run directly at the defender. As the player approaches the defenders the touches should become increasingly smaller. Successful moves are usually initiated 3-4 feet in front of the defender. Finally, the most successful moves are at the ones in which the player over emphasizes the fake.
